Terms of Service

Last updated October 31, 2026

The short version

1. These terms

When these terms say “I”, “me” or “my”, they mean Owen, the individual who makes and runs neo-plan. “neo-plan” means the website at neo-plan.vercel.app and its parts, including what it does with the Dewey extension. “You” means the person with a neo-plan account.

By making an account or using neo-plan, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use neo-plan. If I don’t enforce part of these terms at some point, that doesn’t mean I’ve given it up. These terms limit my liability (sections 9 and 10).

2. Who can use it

3. Your account

4. Using it fairly

Don’t use neo-plan to:

5. Your content

What you put in neo-plan stays yours. You give me only the permission needed to store it, show it to you and run neo-plan’s features with it, as the Privacy policy describes. I don’t pre-screen content, but I may remove something that breaks these terms.

6. Dates and Schoology

neo-plan can import from Schoology, and Schoology’s dates are often wrong. What’s actually due, and whether something is actually turned in, is whatever Schoology and your teacher say. Check there before you rely on neo-plan for something that matters. Reminders and imports can fail or be late.

neo-plan isn’t made, endorsed or supported by Schoology, PowerSchool, Google, or any school. Schoology is a trademark of its owner.

7. neo-plan itself

neo-plan’s code, design, name and logo belong to me. I give you a free, personal, non-transferable permission to use neo-plan as described here, which ends if you break these terms.

neo-plan has bugs, like any software. I fix what I can, starting with anything about security or privacy, but not every bug will be fixed.

8. Ending, and changes

9. No warranty

neo-plan is free and is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Using it is at your own risk.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I’m not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for lost data, missed assignments, grades or other losses, arising from your use of neo-plan or your inability to use it, from someone getting unauthorized access to your data, or from anything else related to these terms, whatever the legal theory.

My total liability for any claim about neo-plan is limited to the greater of what you paid me for neo-plan in the 12 months before the claim (so far, nothing) or US$50.

Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law allows.

11. Your responsibility

If someone makes a claim against me because you broke these terms or the law while using neo-plan, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim, as far as the law allows.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, US, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Please email me first so we can try to sort it out. If we can’t, any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
